Hey damp woodpile snufflers we’re still larking around in the Undergrowth. We’re mixing dem tunes and the album should be with you this side of the Summer Solstice, just before they start throwing the logs on the fire. I’ll put a track up when it’s good to go.
Here’s a pic of a young fan pointing out our talent on the “Everybody’s Got A Beard” video…check out the Beards on the video page….
Down in Forest Studios The Woodlice spent a weekend chomping out a new album. A bit more recording and mixing in the New Year and it’ll be nibbling your stereo by Spring.
Keep your antennae up and your woodpile damp.

The Woodlice (TM) are proud to announce their unveiling in a new supergroup line up (Dan playing violin) at the Ampitheatre multiseater stadium ( wooden stage) at St Werburghs Apple Day at Boiling Wells safari park ( through the tunnel on the right). Providing someone can find us a battery to power the amps of course.
Sunday 21st October. Afternoonish.
It’s gonna be Woodlice stylee.
We’re playing at Bristol Harbourside festival in the Happy City area in Lloyds Amphitheatre at 2pm. Come and enjoy the sunshine (is such a thing possible?) and the Woodlice action!
On Saturday the 26th May Jet, The Woodlice singer and quiff boy, will be performing in an old chip shop in Stroud in a collaboration with Ed Patrick/ Kid Carpet. The show is part of “Stroud Site festival” and Jet and Ed are fantastically lucky to be performing their show, itself based on dual identities, in an old chip shop. They were going to be in a disused railway shed but frankly “The Golden Fish Bar” right in the centre of Strouds shopping area was an opportunity too good to miss. Ed and Jet have written the show together and it’s packed full of charity shop songs and ideas. They will be performing three shows on the day and each show will be different based on what they’ve found in three Stroud charity shops. Ambitious? Possibly. Crazy. Perhaps. Entertaining. You got ya.
From 11am onwards Saturday 26th May at The Golden Fish Bar 1 London Road, Town Centre, Stroud, GL5 2AA. Look outside the fish bar for show times on the day. (NB the programme says they are in the goods shed but they have changed location to The Golden Fish Bar)
Second Hand Identity
An experimental performance
Saturday 26th May 11am-5pm
Brunel Goods Shed, Stroud GL5 3AP
Ed Patrick (Kid Carpet) and Jet McDonald
collaborate on a new performance
experiment. Second Hand Identity changes
with every show. Charity shops and car
boot sales are gleaned to provide all the
characters and props which are sold,
auctioned or somehow got rid of by the
end of the piece. One performance may
be about Princess Diana and located on a
chessboard, the next could be about
He-Man and set in Skegness. Somehow
the story and songs remain the same.
You can now download for free our single which has the tracks
“Everybody’s Got a Beard” and “Kittens on the Ketchup”.
The mini cd is available for a tiny £1 plus postage with a handmade and handprinted lino print by the band on the sleeve.

The Woodlice -Kittens in the Ketchup- from Virpi Kettu on Vimeo.
This was made by the multitalented Virpi who plays violin with The Woodlice when she’s in the UK and is also a great film maker and animator.
These Kittens came all the way from Frome and were farm cats. They certainly liked their chips and ketchup.
“Kittens in the Ketchup” will be one of the songs on our new ep due out Springtime.
Enjoy the video. Woodlice and Kittens everywhere.
